Writing has been a passion my entire life. Poetry, short stories, editorials, feature stories and news events of various descriptions are included in my portfolio.
I have authored a self-help book, autobiographical in nature, and have written guided imagery meditations.
At 57, coming from a background including addiction counselling and office management, I enrolled in the two-year Journalism-Print program at Niagara College, Welland, Ont.
Prince Charles and Camilla’s visit to Hamilton, on their visit to the HMCS Haida, Hamilton, November 2009, was a pleasure and an eye-opener to cover as a newly credentialed photojournalist.
The Canadian Aboriginal Festival, featuring the Canadian Aboriginal Music Awards was also a significant, four-day coverage event that marked a highlight for me as a photojournalist.
The moment I felt the most pride and also the most humility to be a photojournalist was in the January 2010 repatriation ceremony of journalist, Michelle Lang, of The Calgary Herald, when she was brought home to Trenton, Ont. from Afghanistan. It was a bone-chilling cold day but the cold did not deter hundreds of mourners who gathered to show their respect. It will be a day I will forever remember.
My photos are entirely of a photojournalist style. I have never nor will I ever be involved in photography that is less than ethical no matter what you may find on the internet with my name attached. Unfortunately, there are those with nefarious intentions using my name without my consent. Please check with me if you have any questions....
